Clairemont Girls Fastpitch
Originally formed in 1968, Clairemont Bobby Sox served the girls of Clairemont and surrounding communities. The Bobby Sox organization was instrumental in promoting girls sports at a time when boy's leagues received most of the attention. In 2003, after 34 successful seasons as a Bobby Sox league, we dissolved and reformed as Clairemont Girls Fastpitch, an Amateur Softball Association of America (ASA) affiliated league. While our All-Star and travel teams add emphasis on competitiveness, the "regular" Spring season accepts players of all skill levels. If you're new, we can teach you to be good, and if you're good, we can help you be great!
The main tenets of Bobby Sox were Friendship, Sportsmanship, Citizenship, Leadership and Scholarship. Those characteristics are still emphasized by our league today, and are celebrated with the Kyrstin Gemar Five Ship Award, awarded to one player from each team that best represents the five 'ships.
Our goals are friendship, fun, and recreation. Want to join our league and play on one of our teams? We'd love to have you! No tryouts required! We invite you to enter our web site or send us an e-mail. Come join us!
